Welcome to Year 1!

Our class page is here to support both children and parents, and give you useful information about what is going on in our wonderful class! You will also find the latest class newsletter which gives you an overview of the current term. A photo gallery will be updated at the bottom of the page to showcase all of the amazing things that we get up to!

Teaching Staff

Our Year 1 class teacher is Miss H Brown.

Homework at St. Gerard’s will be sent home every Friday and should be completed and returned to school the following Friday for review.

Each week your child will be asked to complete:

- A maths skills sheet – this will be based on the previous year’s skills to begin with.
- An English skills sheet sheet that will link to either grammar, punctuation or our phonics that we have been learning in class
- Daily reading (please see your child’s reading record for information).

PE Days

This year our PE days are on a Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school in the correct PE kit on these days. Details of our PE expectations can be found on our PE and Sport curriculum page. You will also find our whole school PE long term overview plan on that page.
