Pupil Premium

St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School

Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools and academies in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. The focus of this funding is to improve outcomes for pupils who fit the following criteria;

  • Pupils Looked after
  • Pupils who are eligible for free school meals or who have been eligible for free school meals at any time in the past 6 years
  • Children of Services Personnel

Principles

We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all the pupils. We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed. In making provision for disadvantaged pupils, we recognise that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be disadvantaged. We also recognise that not all pupils who are disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being disadvantaged. Pupil premium funding will be allocated following a needs analysis which will identify priority classes, groups or individuals. Limited funding and resources means that not all children receiving free school meals will be in receipt of pupil premium interventions at one time.

Early Years Pupil Premium

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is government funding for Early Years providers. Your child’s Early Years provider (nursery, pre-school, childminder or school) may be entitled to an extra £300 to fund valuable support like extra training or resources to help raise the quality of your child’s early education. The whole school joined together in pray this morning. In the parable of the tenant workers in the vineyard, Jesus teaches us about rejection and acceptance. Children understood how they are called to respect Jesus, by listening to His message of love and sharing it with others. ... See MoreSee Less
